FIR against the officials of mental hospital Peshawar
The committee orders the registration of FIR against all those who are involved in this devilish act and also directed the concerned authorities to initiate strict disciplinary action against the culprits.
The govt auditors have unearthed serious irregularities in the purchase of medicine for hospital patients and also other financial affairs of the hospital in their report sent to the PAC. They also decided to inform the chief secretary about the issue and drafted a letter to inform him about the matter. The committee also directed the authorities of all government departments to activate departmental audit committees (DAC) and audits in all the govt departments shall be conducted biannually.
The chairman of the committee Mr Inayat Ullah Khan emphases upon the govt officials to take the directions of the committee seriously and delaying tactics, shown by any official, while implementing the orders of public account committee will be dealt with an iron hand. He further said that speedy and better accountability can be achieved if the role of the Public account committees of the provincial assembly will be strengthened.
It should be noted the Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan Mr Saqib Nisar also comes hard on the administration of the said hospital while performing a visit to KP Mental Rehabilitation Center and Peshawar Central Prison. He was shocked to know that three people are lying on a single bed in this hospital meant for the mentally retarded people. He also checked the quality of food being provided to patients and stated that “it is horrible to see that the mentally sick and psychologically disturbed people are treated worst than animals in this hospital”.
